Location: Port Hedland, Karratha & Pilbara, WA

Providing proactive interventions to men perpetrating family violence. The Counsellor/Facilitator role forms part of the Connect and Respect team delivering behaviour changes programs in a Prison and in community settings.


  • Tertiary qualification in Human Services – Social Work, Psychology or Counselling
  • Demonstrated experience of interventions including individual counselling, group work facilitation, case management and clinical report writing
  • Knowledge and understanding of the impact of family violence on adult victims, children, young people & communities
  • Working knowledge of current state/federal standards when working with victims and perpetrators
  • Knowledge and experience of intervention models appropriate to working with FDV perpetrators, such as the Duluth Abuse Intervention Program, David Mandel’s Safe and Together Model, Jenkin’s invitational model and response based practice perspectives
  • WA drivers licence
  • A current police check
  • Ability to obtain Department of Corrective Services Clearance

On offer

  • Salary up to 94k (inclusive of regional allowances) + super

  • Contract until June 22 (will likely be extended beyond)
  • 0.8 FTE / 30 hours per week (full time may be negotiated)
  • Rent allowance – Karratha only
