The Carer Recruitment Manager is responsible for leadership of the Carer Recruitment Team and the training, assessment, and implementation of support services. The Manager ensures the program delivers high quality services within a trauma informed framework. The Manager works closely with the Regional Managers and is a member of the local PSP Leadership Team.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Carer Recruitment Manager provides operational leadership and ensures compliance with Policy and Procedures, OOHC standards, relevant legislation and Department of Communities and Justice’ contractual requirements. The Carer Recruitment Manager will be responsible for the delivery of high quality service to provide positive outcomes for children, young people and foster carers. The Carer Recruitment Manager will work collaboratively with the Carer Recruitment team in the provision of carer recruitment and support and contribute to the enhancement of these practices by:

  • Managing the Carer Recruitment team to recruit, asses, support and develop foster carers and kinship carers; and
  • Managing the Carer Recruitment team to support carers to provide a nurturing, therapeutic environment that promotes the physical and emotional safety of children and young people
  • Ensuring the Sanctuary Model is embedded in service practices and services
  • Building and developing a strong outcomes-focused team, support and develop staff through the provision of on-the-job training, coaching and supervision, and develop their capacity to provide high quality carer recruitment and retention services;
  • Leading regular team meetings and ensure that staffing issues are identified, reported and addressed;
  • Managing the recruitment, selection and induction of the Carer Recruitment and Development staff;
  • Actively support and champion the Sanctuary model across all aspects of the programs, and manage the programs in line with the seven Sanctuary commitments; Open Communication, Nonviolence, Emotional Intelligence, Social Learning, Democracy, Social Responsibility, and Growth and Change


  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant field
  • NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Working With Children’s Check
